Delivery and timing
What is the soonest you can deliver?
The soonest delivery is the same day, when you call by 12 pm Monday to Saturday and a unit is open on that day's route. Calls after noon usually get a next-morning delivery.
Do you deliver on Saturdays or Sundays?
Saturday delivery is available for rush and emergency orders. Sunday has no deliveries, so Sunday events get their units on Friday and keep them until Monday.
If you drop it off early, will I pay for the extra days?
An early drop-off for a weekend event costs nothing extra. The Friday-to-Monday window is part of the event price.
What time will the driver arrive?
Deliveries run on routes, so the driver gives a window rather than an exact time. The driver calls about 30 minutes before arrival. A timed delivery can be booked for an added charge.
What is the latest time you deliver?
Most deliveries finish by early evening. If your site is only open after 5 pm, ask for a timed delivery when you book.
Will the driver call before arriving?
The driver calls the number on the order about 30 minutes before arrival, and again if the spot is not clear.
Do I need to be there for delivery or pickup?
Nobody needs to be there if the spot is marked and the gate is open. Text a photo of the spot or mark it with a cone or chalk.
How much notice do you need?
A same-day order needs a call by noon. For weekend events in May through October, book 1 to 2 weeks ahead. Restroom trailers for weddings need 1 to 3 months.
Can I book now if I don't have an exact date yet?
A tentative booking can be held, then moved at no charge with 24 hours' notice once the date is set.
How far ahead should I book for a holiday weekend or graduation season?
Book 2 to 3 weeks ahead for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day and June graduation weekends. ADA units and trailers run out first.
Our site has no street address. How will you find it?
Send a map pin or GPS coordinates and the name of the nearest gate, lot or landmark. Parks, farms, fields and new lots without addresses get deliveries every week.
Can you deliver and pick up on the same day?
Same-day drop and pickup is available for parks and venues that do not allow an early drop. It costs more than a standard event rental because a truck makes two dedicated trips.
Do you deliver to my town?
Delivery covers Gaithersburg and towns up to about 80 miles away across Maryland, DC, Northern Virginia and nearby West Virginia and Pennsylvania. See the service area page.
Pricing and payment
How much is a porta potty rental for one day?
A one-day event rental of a standard unit typically costs $175 to $265 including delivery and pickup. The same price covers a Friday-to-Monday weekend. See the cost guide.
Is that price per day or for the whole rental?
Event prices cover the whole event rental. Long-term prices cover a 28-day cycle with weekly cleaning.
Is the delivery fee included?
Delivery and pickup are included in event prices. Long-term rentals add one delivery charge on the first cycle.
Is that the total with tax and everything?
Your written quote shows the unit, delivery, pickup, servicing, any rush charge and Maryland sales tax, with a single total at the bottom.
Is the delivery fee per unit or for the whole order?
Delivery is charged once per site. Three units on the same lawn share one delivery charge.
Do weekends cost more?
Weekend events cost the same as weekday events. A Saturday delivery requested instead of a Friday drop carries a charge.
Is there a discount for two or more units?
Two or more units on one site share the delivery charge, which lowers the cost per unit. Larger orders get a lower unit rate on the quote.
Do you offer discounts for churches or nonprofits?
Churches, schools and nonprofits get invoice terms and a single delivery charge for multi-unit orders. Ask when you call.
What is the cheapest option?
The cheapest option is a standard unit on a weekend event package, or a standard unit on the 28-day rate for anything longer than about 10 days.
Do you have a price list?
Typical prices for every unit are on the cost guide. Your exact price depends on ZIP, dates and quantity.
Will the price go up if I wait?
Prices can change with demand closer to busy dates. Booking now holds the quoted price, and you can cancel 24 hours before delivery for a full refund.
Is there a pickup or removal fee at the end?
Pickup is part of the event price and part of the first-cycle delivery charge on long rentals. No separate removal charge is added at the end.
Do I pay up front?
Individuals pay by card when the order is confirmed. Businesses, churches and HOAs can request invoice or purchase-order payment.
Is there a deposit?
Most rentals have no separate deposit. The rental is paid when booked. For bookings many months out, a partial payment can hold the date.
Which cards do you take?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and debit cards are accepted. Business accounts can pay by check or ACH after the first invoice.
Can you email a written quote for my board or treasurer?
A written, itemized quote goes out by email or text the same day, with nothing charged until you approve it.
Who is the company on the invoice?
The invoice, caller ID and quote all show the same name: Vance Portable Toilets Rental, at the same phone number on this website.
Can I pay online instead of over the phone?
A secure payment link can be sent by text or email with your quote.
Units and features
What is the difference between a standard and a deluxe unit?
A standard unit has a toilet over a holding tank, a urinal and sanitizer. A deluxe unit adds a foot-pump flush and a sink with soap and towels. See the deluxe unit page.
Do you have a porta potty with a sink inside?
Deluxe flushing units have a sink inside. Some jobsite units also have a small foot-pump sink. ADA units do not, so pair them with a hand wash station.
Do you have a flushable porta potty?
The deluxe flushing unit flushes with fresh water from a foot pump. Restroom trailers have real flushing toilets.
Does the deluxe unit need water or power?
The deluxe flushing unit carries its own water and needs no hookups. Only restroom trailers need water and power.
Does it come with toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
Every unit comes stocked with toilet paper and a sanitizer dispenser. Deluxe units add soap and paper towels.
Is there a light inside?
Porta potties have no electric light but have a translucent roof. For evening events, place a battery light inside. Restroom trailers have full lighting.
Does a standard unit have a urinal?
Each standard unit has a urinal beside the toilet seat.
Are event units nicer than construction units?
Event units are the cleanest and newest units in the fleet and are kept for parties and weddings. Jobsite units are fully sanitized but may show more wear.
Do you have pink units?
Pink, blue and gray units are in the fleet. Ask for a color when you book and it will be held if available.
How many people can one unit handle?
One standard unit handles about 50 guests over 4 hours, or 10 workers for a 40-hour week with weekly service. The calculator gives exact counts.
Can you send pictures of the units?
Photos of every unit type are on the unit pages, and the dispatcher can text photos of the exact unit for your order.
Do you have air-conditioned porta potties?
Only restroom trailers have air conditioning and heat. Porta potties have roof vents for air flow.
Do you have a porta potty on a trailer I can tow?
Towable units on small trailers can be arranged for hunting camps and multi-site crews. Ask the dispatcher about availability.
Cleaning and servicing
How often is it cleaned?
Units on rentals longer than 7 days are serviced once a week. Event units are cleaned before delivery and after pickup.
What happens at a service visit?
The tech pumps the waste tank, scrubs the seat, floor and walls, adds fresh deodorizer, refills sanitizer and restocks toilet paper.
Is cleaning included in the monthly price?
Weekly cleaning is included in every 28-day cycle.
Can it be serviced every two weeks instead?
Weekly service is the minimum for units in regular use, because a full tank causes odor. Very light-use sites can ask about on-call service.
Can I get twice-weekly or daily cleaning?
Twice-weekly, daily and mid-event cleaning are all available for an added charge per visit.
Can you clean it after each night of a multi-day event?
Nightly service can be scheduled for festivals, tournaments and multi-day events so units are fresh each morning.
Do you leave extra toilet paper?
Extra rolls are left on request at delivery and at each service visit.
What if a service visit is missed?
Call or text the same day. A missed service is made up on the next route day at no charge.
Placement and access
Where should the porta potty go?
Choose flat, firm ground within about 50 feet of where the truck can park, with the door facing away from the street. See the placement guide.
Can it go in the backyard?
A unit can go in a backyard if the path is at least 4 feet wide, fairly flat and free of steps.
Can you put it behind a fence or gate?
Units can go behind fences and gates. Leave the gate unlocked or text the code, and make sure the gate opening is at least 4 feet wide.
Can you stake it so it doesn't blow over?
Units on open lots can be staked or strapped at no charge. Ask when you book.
Can the driver call me for directions?
The driver calls before arrival and can call again from the street. Add notes about tricky turns or GPS errors to your order.
Can I mark the spot with a cone?
A cone, chalk mark, stake or texted photo all work well.
Will the truck damage my driveway or lawn?
Units are moved by hand dolly from the truck, so the truck stays on the street or driveway. Tell us about soft ground, pavers or septic fields when you book.
Can it go on the street in front of my house?
A unit in a public street needs a right-of-way permit. Placing it on the driveway avoids the permit. See permit rules.
Events, parties and weddings
How does it work for a one-day party?
The unit arrives the business day before, stays through your party, and is picked up the next business day. You pay one event price.
Our party is only 3 hours. Do I pay the full rate?
Event pricing is a flat package, not an hourly rate, so a 3-hour party and a 3-day party cost the same.
Can I add another unit if more people RSVP?
Units can be added up to the day before delivery, and often on the day itself.
Can it be locked when we're not there?
Each unit has a hasp for a lock, and a combination lock can be added free.
Should we get a restroom trailer or a few deluxe units for our wedding?
Choose a trailer for 100 or more guests when the site has power, water and level access. Choose deluxe units for smaller or hard-to-reach sites. See wedding restrooms.
Do you deliver to parks and public fields?
Units go to parks, fields and fairgrounds. Many parks set fixed drop and pickup times, so share the permit window when you book.
Do I need a permit for my block party?
A Gaithersburg block party under 200 people needs a city permit filed at least 2 weeks ahead. See the block party checklist.
Do you serve funerals and celebrations of life?
Units for funerals, wakes and memorials can go out quickly, often the same or next day, and arrive early so the family does not have to manage them.
Jobsites and construction
How much is a jobsite porta potty per month?
A standard jobsite unit typically runs $165 to $235 per 28-day cycle with weekly cleaning, plus a one-time delivery charge.
How does 28-day billing work?
Each cycle is 28 days with weekly service included. Billing renews each cycle until you call for pickup, so a full year is 13 cycles.
Is the second month cheaper?
The second and later cycles skip the delivery charge, so they cost less than the first.
Can I put the rental under my business name?
Business accounts are set up with your company name, billing contact and PO numbers, and can be invoiced after the first cycle.
Can you deliver to several job sites?
One account can cover many sites, each with its own service day, on one statement.
How many units does OSHA require?
OSHA requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers and 1 seat plus 1 urinal per 40 workers above that. See the OSHA guide.
Can I email a scope of work for a quote?
Email the scope, schedule and crew size to info@gaithersburgportapotty.com and a quote comes back the same business day.
Do you also rent dumpsters or fencing?
This company rents portable toilets, hand wash stations and restroom trailers only. The dispatcher can suggest local dumpster and fence companies.

A remodel unit is billed on the 28-day rate with weekly cleaning, typically $165 to $235 per cycle plus one delivery charge.

I'm building my own home. Can the unit stay six months?
A unit can stay as long as the build lasts, with weekly service and moves when needed.
Does it renew automatically?
Long rentals renew every 28 days until you ask for pickup. A reminder text goes out before each new cycle.
Can I extend if the job runs long?
Extensions need no paperwork. The rental simply continues until you call.
Can I keep a unit all summer?
Seasonal rentals for pools, farms, ball fields and lake houses run on the same 28-day rate with weekly service.
ADA units and hand washing
Do you have handicap accessible units?
ADA units with ground-level entry, grab bars and a 60-inch turning space are in stock. See the ADA unit page.
How much more is an ADA unit?
An ADA unit typically costs $75 to $100 more than a standard unit for an event.
Does the ADA unit have a sink?
The ADA unit has sanitizer but no sink, because the turning space takes the floor. Add a hand wash station beside it.
Can you provide ADA units year-round for a trail or garden?
Year-round ADA units are available on the 28-day rate, with weekly service and winter antifreeze.
How much is a hand washing station?
A hand wash station typically costs $110 to $185 per event or $135 to $195 per 28 days.
Does a hand wash station need a water hookup?
Hand wash stations carry their own water and need no hookup.
Is a hand wash station single or double sided?
Each station is double sided, so two people can wash at once.
Is a standard unit plus a hand wash station cheaper than a deluxe unit?
For one restroom, a standard unit plus a station costs about the same as a deluxe unit. For several units, sharing one station costs less.
Restroom trailers
Do your restroom trailers have AC and lights?
Restroom trailers have air conditioning, heat, interior lights, mirrors and vanities with running water.
How much notice does a restroom trailer need?
Weekday trailer rentals need 1 to 3 days. Weekend weddings from May to October should be booked 1 to 3 months ahead.
Do trailers have separate men's and women's sides?
Trailers with 3 or more stations usually have separate men's and women's sides. Two-station trailers have two private, lockable rooms.
Does the trailer need servicing between days?
Multi-day events get a pump-out and restock between days, scheduled on your quote.
What if there is no outlet or hose?
A generator and a fresh-water tank can be added so the trailer works anywhere the truck can reach.
Is there a discount for a two-week trailer rental?
Weekly and monthly trailer rates cost less per day than event rates. Ask for a long-term trailer quote.
Changes, cancellation and pickup
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before your delivery date for a full refund. Later cancellations may keep the delivery charge if the truck is already loaded.
What does 24 hours before delivery mean?
It means one full business day before the scheduled delivery date. For a Friday delivery, cancel by Thursday morning.
Can I change the date after booking?
Date changes are free with 24 hours' notice, subject to availability on the new date.
How do I schedule pickup?
Call or text the office. Pickup runs on the next route day.
Can you pick up Sunday instead of Monday?
There are no Sunday pickups. A Saturday evening or Monday pickup can be arranged.
