What makes a deluxe flushing unit different?
A deluxe flushing porta potty adds a foot-pump flush and a sink with fresh water, soap and paper towels. The flush rinses the bowl and hides the waste tank, so guests never look into it. The unit carries its own fresh water and needs no outlet or hose.
| Spec | Typical value | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Footprint | About 44–48 in wide × 48 in deep | Needs a 50 in clear path |
| Fresh water | About 15–20 gallons | Shared by the flush and sink |
| Uses per fill | About 120–150 flushes | Book a mid-event refill for all-day events |
| Inside | Flush, sink, soap, towels, mirror, hook | No hookups needed |
| Power | None | Add a battery light for night events |
Flushing unit or restroom trailer?
Choose deluxe flushing units for weddings and parties up to about 100 guests, or where a trailer cannot reach the site. Choose a restroom trailer for 100 or more guests, black-tie events, or when the venue has a 120-volt outlet and a hose spigot within 100 feet.
| Question | Deluxe flushing unit | Restroom trailer |
|---|---|---|
| Guests it suits | Up to about 100 (with 2–3 units) | 100–300+ per trailer |
| Hookups | None | 120 V outlet + hose, or generator + tank |
| Ground | Flat spot the size of a doormat | Level spot for a 16–28 ft trailer, truck access |
| Inside | Flush, small sink | Porcelain toilets, vanities, lights, climate control |
| Typical cost | $325–$475 each | $1,100 and up |
How many flushing units for your event?
Plan 1 deluxe flushing unit per 40 guests for an event of up to 4 hours. A 100-guest wedding of 5 to 6 hours with a bar needs 4 units. If the event lasts all day, add 1 more or book a mid-event service visit to refill water and paper.
Run your numbers in the porta potty calculator, then add one ADA unit if any guests use a wheelchair.

Deluxe flushing unit: questions before you book
Does the flushing porta potty need water or electricity?
The deluxe flushing unit needs no water line and no electricity. It carries its own fresh-water tank for the flush and sink. The flush and sink run on foot pumps.
Is it a real toilet?
The deluxe unit is not plumbed like a home toilet. The bowl flushes with fresh water and a flap closes over the holding tank, so it looks and feels much cleaner than a standard porta potty.
How long does the flush water last?
One fill gives about 120 to 150 flushes. That covers 40 guests over a 4-hour event. For longer events, ask for a refill visit during the event.
Can it be used in winter?
Flushing units are not booked when nights fall below freezing, because the fresh water can freeze. From December to February, a standard unit with sanitizer or a heated restroom trailer works better.
Is a flushing unit worth it for a backyard party?
For a birthday or cookout, a standard unit is usually enough. Hosts choose the flushing unit for weddings, showers, milestone parties and older guests who notice the difference.
Do you leave extra soap and towels?
Each unit is stocked with soap, paper towels and toilet paper. Ask for an extra pack of supplies at delivery for events over 4 hours.
